Principal Functions:
This is a ministerial staff position with competitive compensation and benefits. The Worship Leader will be responsible to the church for leading, developing, promoting, and implementing all music ministries of the Calvary Chapel Turlock and is responsible to the church for the daily administrative responsibilities to include providing leadership and direction to the music staff and lay musicians. The Worship Leader should be a team player with a heart for the Calvary Chapel Turlock (CCT) body and one who is actively invested in developing leaders at CCT.
Qualifications:
Must be an individual who has received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and exemplifies a spiritual commitment in the performance of his duties. Additionally, he must be walking with Jesus without compromise.
Our Worship Leader should possess a strong musical background, dependable, spiritually motivated, creative and one who has a heart for worship ministry and have at least three years of experience directing worship teams and/or choirs, worship bands, and managing the administrative aspects of a music ministry.
Our Worship Leader must possess proven leadership and interpersonal skills to lead the music ministry and volunteer lay musicians and have the ability to recruit and shepherd music volunteers, instrumentalists, and vocalists.
The Worship Leader should have a vision and plan for facilitating rehearsals in an enjoyable, productive, inviting, spiritual environment and have a heart to see people connected to a growing relationship with Jesus.
A strong candidate should have the ability to lead a team and the congregation in worship, and be teachable, self-motivated, and able to work independently and efficiently. A strong candidate should be organized, able to plan, and possess strong communication skills. He should be able to work well in a team environment and can lead others and engage with the Worship Team effectively. The Worship Leader must have a commitment to excellence and creativity.
Knowledgeable and effective in ministry branding and social media presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, You Tube, live streaming, and the ability to create graphics, videos, or other creative elements a plus.
Accountability:
The Worship Leader directly reports to the Executive Administrator and is accountable to the Senior Pastor on matters of worship, thematic topics, music, and praise worship. The Worship Leader is responsible to attend leadership meetings and worship planning committee meetings.
Core Responsibilities & Duties of the Worship Leader:
The Worship Leader at CCT will lead, manage, and shepherd the Worship Team and ensemble rehearsals. Leads Sunday worship. The Worship Leader will provide music for all Sunday worship services and mid-week bible studies (seasonal), and plan and manage all ProPresenter needs for weekly services. Calvary Chapel Turlock's Worship Leader ensures all worship team members are prepared by communicating all song information and updates to Worship Team members and recruits auxiliary musicians when needed for absences and/or to enhance the worship experience. All other responsibilities as assigned for the body of believers at Calvary Chapel Turlock.
