Worship Leader Job - Community of Faith Church, West Linn, Oregon

Purpose
The worship leader plays an important role in calling the congregation into worship through music and sustaining a worshipful atmosphere by selecting songs/hymns that will add depth and meaning to the message.

Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate with the lead pastor to plan music for Sunday worship that supports the message.
Select music that enhances congregational participation
Select hymns for the 9 am traditional service
Select songs for the contemporary 10:30 am service
Prepare lyric slides using ProPresenter software
Rehearse and prepare music for worship services
Develop a worship team
Lead worship music for two services on Sunday mornings (one service June – August)
Lead worship music at special worship services during holiday seasons and special occasions

Faith Criteria
Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10)
Is in harmony with Community of Faith's statement of belief and mission

Personal Criteria
Exhibits integrity, honesty (Prov. 15:9) and humility (Psalm 25:9)
Displays good people skills (Matt. 22:37-40)
Is energetic and vibrant
Is self-directed and self-motivated
Is dependable
Has knowledge of the Lutheran tradition and music (or are willing to learn)
Must pass background check

Professional Criteria
A four-year college/university degree in a music-related field preferred
Has record of experience with, and passion for, both contemporary and traditional music
Possesses musical and vocal skills to lead worship
Exhibits outstanding_noemailanizational and_noemailmunication skills

Reports To
Lead pastor

Hours and Benefits
This is a part-time position, paid by the service
