Woodhaven Reformed Church (Byron Center, MI) has begun a search for a full-time Director of Worship Ministries Plus!
Woodhaven is a multi-generational church in the Reformed tradition (Reformed Church in America) whose vision is to see the community around them radically transformed by the hope and love of Christ. To that end, the church is on a mission to help others encounter Christ and live like him.
In this full-time position, the Director of Worship Ministries Plus will commit 50-60% of his or her time to providing oversight of the worship ministry of the congregation. In so doing, the Director of Worship Ministries will have the privilege of planning and leading worship services, as well as recruiting and developing vocalists and instruments. The Sunday services typically include a handful of songs (a carefully crafted selection of current songs on the radio, memorable CMI tunes, and timeless hymns, as well as other traditional worship elements like the Lord's Supper (monthly), baptisms, the Lord's Prayer (in unison), the Apostles' Creed (in unison).
This position, however, is not simply vertical, as in planning and leading worship. It is also horizontal or relational, as in developing and discipling a core group of volunteers. In other words, the measurements of effectiveness are twofold: congregational participation in worship and the development of a core group of volunteers who serve the worship ministry of the congregation. Towards that end, the Director of Worship Ministries will emphasize transformational truths, build meaningful relationships, create irresistible environments, and equip to empower.
The remaining portion of this role will flow from the passions and gifts of the Director of Worship Ministries.
