Job Description:
South Seminole Baptist Church is seeking a Full-time Worship/Student Pastor to lead the Music Ministry and the Student Ministry (7th - 12th grade) of our church family. We are pursuing a pastoral leader with a heart of shepherding people to love Christ, know Him greater, and make much of His glory.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTION
The Worship/Student Pastor is responsible to Christ and the Lead Pastor for leading the congregation in the development, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of an effectual ministry of corporate worship activities and events and the development, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of an effectual, comprehensive, ministry program of religious education for students; seventh through twelfth grade.
WORKING RELATIONSHIP
The Worship/Student Pastor works under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and in cooperation with the pastoral/ministerial staff to establish continuity in the church ministries.
The Worship/Student Pastor is accountable to the Personnel Committee.
Give leadership to the work of the Worship and Student Ministry Teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Assist the Lead Pastor in an effectual planning, conducting, and evaluating of all corporate worship services of the congregation; including all technical production, video, media, lighting, and sound.
Serve and lead in the development, promotion, implemention, and evaluation of a comprehensive music/creative arts program for the congregation; various age groups, soloists, choirs, instrumental groups, etc.
Be aware of and available to serve as needed in weddings and funerals to be held in the church.
Provide leadership to and coordinate the practices and performance schedules of soloist, music groups, and instrumentalists recruited to lead or participate in the corporate worship services of the congregation.
Oversee and supervise the maintenance of and additions to the church music library, instruments, and worship related equipment.
Serve and lead in cooperation of the Worship Ministry Team to coordinate and implement the order of worship for the corporate worship services of the congregation.
Serve and lead in the coordination of the student educational/discipleship program of the congregation by coordinating, promoting, implementing, and evaluating Sunday School, discipleship, mission education, outreach events and fellowship activities.
Serve and lead in the recruiting, training, developing, and counseling of persons selected (elected) to work in leadership roles for the student ministry.
Serve and lead in cooperation of the Student Ministry Team to plan, coordinate, and implement Student Sunday School, discipleship, mission education, and outreach events and fellowship activities of the Student Ministry.
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of all digital, social media content, engagement, and promotion; church website, Facebook, Facebook Live, etc.
Coordinate, in cooperation with the pastoral staff, the various worship and student programs, ministries, activities, and events to be placed on the Church calendar.
Supervise all paid and volunteer, music staff and instrumentalists.
Keep informed of current trends, methods, materials, and promotion as related to worship, students, discipleship, and media ministries and utilizing them where appropriate.
Serve on the Church Council.
Assist the Lead Pastor in the pastoral-care ministry of the congregation; by visiting members in the hospitals, members in need, prospects for the church, and when called upon to provide biblical counseling.
Assist the Lead Pastor in serving and leading the congregation in the evangelism, outreach, and mission ministries of the congregation.
Assist the Lead Pastor in the spiritual and administrative leadership of the congregation.
Accept other assignments as made by the Lead Pastor.
