ASSOCIATE WORSHIP PASTOR
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Schedule: Full-time position
SUMMARY: We are a loving, growing, Christ-centered Church in the Sandhills region of North Carolina. Our mission statement reflects the heart of our Church and sets the direction for all of our ministries; "Leading People to Love Jesus." The person in this role is an experienced worship leader who will develop a comprehensive music ministry and lead the congregation in worship. They will be a seasoned musician and vocalist who can provide mature spiritual leadership to music ministry volunteers. This role is also responsible for the Church's media and technology including all aspects of Audio/Visual, Church website, and social media presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the praise team and choir – contemporary music and traditional hymns
Plan and coordinate all music, media, and stage requirements with vocalists, musicians, and media technicians – this role is responsible for the readiness of all creative elements used in the service
Communicate consistently and routinely with all worship groups to ensure coordination of all activities in the worship service
Present a worship flow plan for upcoming services at weekly staff meetings and work through the planning of each service with other ministerial staff employees
Recruit new praise team, choir, musicians, and technical support volunteers and work with them to enhance their skill levels
Supervise church pianist activities and provide instruction, support, and direction within the guidelines of the pianist's job description
Oversee the maintenance, updating, and security of all musical equipment and software licensing
Work with Senior Pastor to determine annual budget needs for the music program
Lead the worship and technical related activities necessary for all types of special services
Assist with Church member visits, as well as attending and participating in funerals and other ministries as directed by the Senior Pastor
Train all new audio/visual media booth volunteers
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Seminary degree is preferred
Must be ordained or willing to be ordained
Must be in agreement and observance of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
Must be a mature, committed Christian dedicated to facilitating spiritual growth and maturity in self and others
Must be a skilled musician and vocalist
Must have experience in leading worship services, praise teams, and sanctuary choir
Must be creative, a self-starter, energetic, and have a passion for music and the Lord
Must be a team player with a positive attitude
Must have good interpersonal and leadership skills
Must have strong communication and organizational skills
Must be skilled in the use of technology used in worship including sound, lighting, computers, presentation software, and video projection
Must have working knowledge of social media and skills at Church website management
Must be proficient in presentation software such as power point as well as other types of software programs such as Excel and Word (or Mac equivalents)
