LEAD PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
First Christian Church is a cutting-edge, non-denominational church seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Lead Pastor. Our vision incorporates the concept "whatever it takes," indicating our willingness to accept change. The church is contemporary in style or casual in its feel. We have a heart for the broken and wounded, along with young adults, children, and youth. We are a congregation of 350-500. The congregants_noemaile from diverse religious backgrounds and cross racial and socio-economic barriers. The church is located in a rural_noemailmunity of approximately 20, 000 people.
Job Overview
First Christian Church is seeking an individual who has a divine calling to be a pastor. He is to be a servant leader and a visionary with the ability to motivate others both as a speaker and interpersonally.
Pastor Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Vision
a. Seek God's Word and God's leading for the church.
b. Discern and_noemailmunicate the vision, direction, and strategic plan for the church.
c. Lead, shepherd, and develop the pastoral team and other support staff.
d. Shepherd and develop the board of elders and deacons.
e. Inspire, influence, and challenge the spiritual well-being of the congregation so that they
may glorify God in both their public and private lives—both corporately and as
individuals.
2. Teach and Preach
a. Communicate God's Word in a way that is relative to people from diverse backgrounds, ages, and cultures.
b. Lead the pastoral team in_noemailanizing and conducting worship services.
c. Provide counseling services to individuals as needed.
3. Set an Example
a. Model a life passionate for Jesus Christ and the work of His church.
b. Model a heart_noemailmitted to reaching people and making disciples in accordance to the
great_noemailmission.
c. Demonstrate a deep love for people and honor God in all relationships.
Pastor Qualifications
Meet requirements for office as listed in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
A degree in Biblical Studies/Preaching from an accredited university or seminary;
additional training in counseling is a plus. A Master's degree is preferred.
The ideal candidate would have at least five years of experience as a Lead Pastor.
Salary Package: $60, 000-$75, 000
