Senior Pastor Job - Cornerstone Community Church, Spokane, Washington

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Pastor is the chief under-Shepherd, vision-caster, preacher, and leader of Cornerstone Community Church. He is selected for an unspecified period of service by the Eldership in conjunction with the Deacons and the Membership. He will lead, manage, supervise, and minister to CCC staff, leadership, and the congregation. He is expected to contribute to the team spirit of the leadership through fellowship, encouragement, cooperation, prayer support, and other appropriate ways, as he serves his Lord Jesus Christ, and the church. He reports directly to the Eldership and will be a fellow Elder.

COMPENSATION:

His salary will be established and approved each year by the Elders. Vacation periods, sick leave, insurance coverage and other benefits are yet to be finalized.

MISSION AND PURPOSE:

Preach the Word of God for the purpose of life-change, cast vision under the power of the Holy Spirit, lead the staff and leadership of the church, shepherd the flock at CCC. This ministry is to be carried out in an atmosphere of love, cooperation and mutual accountability, leading to the a_noemailplishment of personal and ministerial goals under the direction and enabling power of the Holy Spirit.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:
Meets the scriptural requirements for an Elder.
Meets with God in prayer, on a daily basis.
Spends time each day in the study of God's Word.
Is engaged in consistent daily memorization of Scripture.
Performs pastorial duties on a regular basis as circumstances and demands dictate.
Will be involved in evangelism by casting vision and setting aside time each week to follow up with visitors, and to help train the members to make the most of every evangelistic opportunity.
Is involved in personal discipleship, either in a small group or one-on-one.
Stays current with the trends of his ministry by listening to tapes, reading books, periodicals and attending approved conferences.
Presides at the church for all-regular worship services and, special services.
Is available to the congregation before and after services as other duties allow.
Maintains flexible working hours as determined by the needs of his ministry.
