Job Description:
As Pastor, you will serve as spiritual leader for the congregation and be responsible for preaching and teaching the gospel by preparing and delivering relevant, Spirit-filled sermons. In addition, you will plan and conduct the Sunday worship services in collaboration with the music ministry and praise dance ministries. As Pastor, you will also lead in administering the Holy ordinances of Baptism and Communion.
Outside of Sunday morning worship, you will be responsible for overseeing Bible study, classes and seminars. If requested, as Pastor, you will provide pastoral care and counselling to those preparing for marriage or experiencing illness, bereavement, incapacitation or other matters. Additional responsibilities include officiating at funerals, weddings, and baby dedications.
As an Administrator, you will collaborate with the Executive Council, Advisory Council, Ministerial Team and staff to administer the business of the church in accordance with the church constitution and by-laws. Finally, in collaboration with the leadership team, you will develop and implement strategies for healthy church growth in an urban_noemailmunity.

The Christian Church of Chester was formed in 2016, when two church congregations, the former White Rock Christian Church (Chester, PA) and the former First Baptist Church of Fairview (Woodlyn, PA) united to build the kingdom of God. The Christian Church of Chester is one of the largest church congregations in the city of Chester, PA with leadership, staff and members that are committed to the vision and mission of the church. Qualifications:
Required
Five years (required) of pastoral level experience inclusive of experience in church administration
Candidates must also be licensed and ordained.
Candidates must reflect the qualifications given by Paul in I Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Must have strong expository preaching skills and demonstrated effectiveness in teaching God's Word to individuals of all ages.
Must be able to pass a background check, inclusive of child abuse clearances and credit
Preferred
Should be able to train and develop future church leaders
Should have strong business management skills.
Should have experience in community outreach
Should have experience ministering in an urban community
