Job Description:
1. Worship Leader
Collaborate with Worship Committee to select all worship music for services and SHUMC programs/events**
Participate in the weekly planning meetings with the Pastor and the Worship Committee and other relevant planning sessions as they may arise**
Provide agreed upon music during all worship services and SHUMC programs/events
Spread vitality and engage the congregation through the musical worship experience
Rehearse or otherwise assure preparedness of all music ministry elements
Promote fellowship within and help recruit new volunteers into the music ministry where applicable**
2. Music Administrator
Acquire the music, equipment, and supplies required to perform designated duties in accordance with SHUMC budget**
Manage the pianist/organist budget and submit required reports, estimates, and requests by specified deadlines
Strictly adhere to SHUMC policies including the Safe Sanctuary Policy
Working knowledge of copyright and licensing laws related to CCLI and how to stay within compliance**
Handle CCLI reporting**

Compensation:
1. Starting salary will be $150.00 - $200.00 per week, based on qualifications.
a. Pianist/Organist responsible for finding replacement for any time off
2. This is a part-time position and does not include pension or health care benefits.
**Will be in partnership with Minister of Music in future
***A 30-day notice of resignation or termination is required by either party.

4. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills required to effectively collaborate with both the church staff as well as the other members of the music ministry
5. Knowledge of United Methodist theology and hymnody is desired
