As a 'Community Church' we come from many different backgrounds and traditions. Our 'community' beliefs are based on the Holy Scriptures as GOD"S WORD. We believe in the Triune GOD: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We confess the Lord's Prayer, the Apostle's, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds. We believe Salvation is a gift from God, apart from works.
We are the 'Body of Christ' on earth, united by Jesus, who is our Lord. We come together to Worship, study GODS's WORD, be empowered by the Sacraments, to Fellowship, to Teach and be Strengthened to go out and use the gifts God has given us for HIS Glory and Purpose. We are a traditional and older congregation. We sing from our hymn books, have a lovely choir and take Holy Communion each week. We are very much a unified family of believers and we support each other by sharing our prayer requests and concerns. We have the facilities for a nursery and Sunday school, but have no members with young children at this time.
Our Senior Pastor preaches and teaches on Sundays. We have a Seekers group for study before our worship time at 10:30 a.m. He or she would also officiate over celebrations and funerals, would do outreach to the homebound or ill members of our church, and work with the Board of Trustees in making all major decisions for the congregation, its facilities and its future growth. We hope to find a candidate that lives out Christian principles, can work with all types of people, has a vision for the future of our small congregation and can counsel those in need of spiritual guidance and comfort. We seek a humble, hungry and intelligent candidate.
Our congregation has a heart for Missions, and we hope our next Pastor will too. We have small groups and bible studies but are always looking for new ways to grow in relationship with the Lord and the Word, We work with other churces in Polson in many ways to be a part of our Community.
