Job Description:

The Thorntown Christian Church is actively seeking a candidate to fill our Pastor position. We are a small church in a small town. By the Grace of Jesus Christ, we have been able to worship in this church for over 100 years. We hope to find someone who shares in our beliefs, traditions, and love of personally knowing the people that we worship with. We are rooted in the Disciples Of Christ denomination, but decided to part ways with the corporate entity in the early 2000s to retain the core beliefs, based on the Bible, not societal changes.

Our Mission: Thorntown Christian Church exists to worship God, share Christ with everyone we meet, teach to saved, and be a loving friend to our neighbors.

The Pastor Role:
The Pastor is responsible for leading in the implementation of a Christ-centered mission and vision.
The Pastor is the primary teacher/preacher of the church.

Job Description:
* Preaching is his primary responsibility.
* Work with the elders, board and church leadership to ensure shepherding takes place in helping to meet the needs in this congregation.
* Proactively make connections with leaders and_noemailanizations in Thorntown and the Boone County area including schools and the youth.
* Represent Thorntown Christian Church as the public representative.
* Be a present and active part of Bible studies and other ministries in the church.
* Be available to assist those with personal challenges and seek solutions on their behalf.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified to teach from the Bible in keeping with our Christian Values and
Mission.
2. Successfully_noemailpleted seminary (some experience as a pastor preferred).
3. Ability to reach both older, more traditional worshipers as well as younger,
more contemporary ones

Compensation:
Thorntown Christian Church is offering the following_noemailpensation.
Salary Starting at $50,000.00
