Associate Pastor
The Associate Pastor oversees the administrative life of the church, enabling the Lead Pastor to focus on preaching, teaching, and setting strategy.
Accountabilities include:
Primary co-leader to the Lead Pastor
Lead and direct the all of the administrative and operational workings of the Church
Work with internal church staff members on personal development
Facilitate the church strategic visioning process and determine work plan, resources, and metrics to implement that vision
Direct church internal and external communications strategy and execution (to the congregation and community) through the use of social media, newsletter, bulletins, phone calls, etc.
Accountable for additional ministry-related duties as needed - preaching, bible study, sacraments
The following specific responsibilities are critical to the success of this role:
Administration and Operations
Work with the administrative assistant on church office management
Document, monitor, and seek to enhance operational processes within the church
Collaborate with trustees on facility planning and upkeep, including church, office and parsonages
Oversight of some (non-clergy) office staff and contractors
Oversee planning for annual local church conference and other local church conferences
Attend committee meetings as needed
Communications
Develop and oversee implementation of communications strategy for Trinity.
Oversight of internal communications, including bulletin, newsletter and weekly updates
Oversight of external communications, including website and social media, in close collaboration with other staff
Visioning Support
Assist with visioning process
Determine resources and measurements related to visioning
Congregational care
Assist with other areas of pastoral care as needed
Help plan and facilitate worship life of the church (weekly, special services, funerals, weddings.)
